I was delighted to take over as President at the AGM in June. Vivian Doyle-Kelly has led the Chamber with great energy and enthusiasm over the last four years. I would like to thank Vivian for his service to the Chamber and I am pleased that he is staying on the board. I will lean on him for advice in my new role.
Both Vivian and Ruth Hanna have stepped down from their executive positions, but will remain on the board. Ruth has done incredible work for the Chamber in the communications area over the last number of years and I would like to publicly thank her for her efforts.
Carol McCormick and Paul Dunne were elected to the executive at the AGM. Both are well known members of the Irish community and I am delighted that they have taken up their positions. I look forward to working with both of them over the coming period.
As reported in our newsletter, we were pleased to host an ICBA/IBEC delegation in September. A series of meetings with various agencies and a breakfast seminar hosted by McCarthy Tétrault were the highlights of a successful visit.
The festive season will kick off with our annual Christmas party. This year, it will take place on December 12th at the Bier Markt. I hope to see you all there.
