ICCC: Back to Business After a Productive Summer

Before summer closed, the grape harvest was already in full swing across Québec’s vineyards, marking an early start to the season. Similarly, at Montréal’s Ireland-Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC), we are seeing the fruits of our busy spring. Our preparations for the 2024-2025 season began ahead of schedule, laying the groundwork for exciting initiatives ahead.

Laying the Foundation for Growth

In recent months, your Chamber has been actively engaged in high-level meetings and initiatives to strengthen the Québec-Ireland business connection. Highlights include:

• Strategic discussions with the Industrial Development Agency (IDA) and Enterprise Ireland (EI).
• Meeting with Bombardier Defense and tour of their state-of-the-art operations in Montréal.
• Promotion of Montréal’s business potential at the Invest NI trade mission reception in Toronto, attended by Northern Ireland’s Minister for the Economy, Conor Murphy, along with representatives from 12 Northern Irish companies.
• Virtual meeting with Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and John Concannon, Ireland’s newly appointed Ambassador-designate to Canada.
• Progression of an Ireland-Québec trade research report.

Collaboration with the Ambassador-Designate

We are thrilled to partner with John Concannon, Ireland’s incoming Ambassador to Canada. With an impressive background in marketing, John brings a wealth of experience in elevating ‘Brand Ireland’ and expanding the global Irish diaspora’s influence. His strategic vision will be key in fostering stronger connections between Ireland and Canada.

Upcoming Events: A Preview of What’s to Come

This autumn, ICCC and Enterprise Ireland will co-host an exciting event (late October-early November) to celebrate the growing trade ties between Québec and Ireland.
